Steampunk Short

A couple of coworkers and I got together and filmed a little steampunk short on a whim about a year and a half ago.We thought of the idea while scouting for a music video shoot.  We came up with some costumes that evening, decided on a basic story line, and filmed the next day.

We had a blast shooting it!  We then let the footage sit for nearly a year without working on it at all.  So after that long wait we finally decided to get the short finished!

So here is the final video.  It's a little campy and a lot fun!  I hope you enjoy it as much as we did working on it  :)

Creating a Paper Piecing Pattern and Using it to Make a Mug Rug

In the past I've created a few paper piecing patterns that I made available online.  I have a lot of fun making them and decided to show you all how to create your own patterns.

I used one of my paper pieced blocks to create a quilted mug rug.  It is the same techniques as making a full size quilt, so great practice if you think you want to get started in quilting or just want to make a quick quilt project.

I would love to see the paper piecing designs that you all come up with!

Turning a Bag Right Sides Out

I've had several people contact me saying they get confused when making a lined bag and get to the step of turning it right sides out.  I usually speed this up or cut it completely out of tutorials completely because once you've done it, it is very easy.  I guess I was forgetting that not every one has made a bag before.  So I made a sewing basics video showing the entirety of it in real time.  I hope you find it helpful!
