Craft Fair Projects and Vlog

I did my first craft fair recently with my mom. We made up a ton of items and spent the entire Saturday hanging out and chatting with customers.  We had a great time!  It was interesting to see what all people bought and didn't buy (wasn't what we expected!). We had a booth down the hallway leading into the main room which was cool because we had a little more room and was able to set up 3 tables, my mannequin, and some vintage door screens to hang items on.

Here's a video showing some of the items I made to sell at the craft fair.

I also made a vlog talking about what sold, what didn't and overall how the day went.

For the fair I made money bags for me and mom.  I used an old pair of pants, a long zipper, and seam binding and they turned out great!  They worked really well for holding our change, phone, and anything else we needed.

The Yellow Dog Project

Over the past couple of years we have adopted two shelter dogs. With a shelter dog with often come interesting quirks.

For example- when we first got Annie she wouldn't eat unless one of us sat in the floor with her because she was afraid we would leave her and never come back.

Both of our dogs have progressed so much , but they still have some difficult days.  Bandit has the most bad days.  In order to help our walks around the neighborhood go as smoothly as possible we tie a piece of yellow fabric to Bandit's leash so people understand to give her some extra space.

Learn more about the yellow dog project in my video.

Recent Sewing Projects

I've been sewing a ton of projects lately and wanted to share everything in a video.  A lot of the items will be available in my etsy store.

New New New

Jeremiah and I have gotten (mostly) moved into our new house! We now need to finish unpacking and then decorate.

However that is now the only new thing...

Today I started a new blog! It's not going to replace this one in any way. The new blog is going to track my journey through learning and researching 'fun' history. I'm a firm believer that history (and learning in general) should be fun. I'll be covering topics ranging from old Hollywood actors, sewing history, Native American culture, and lots of other topics I'm interested in. I'll also be taking suggestions for topics. Sometimes I'll just post a quick fun fact and other times a more in depth look.

So far I've only posted an introduction...but go check it out and click follow if you're interested :)

Pretty Notions

I had challenged myself to blog once a week...but missed the last two weeks. I'm been busy with packing, family coming into town, practice for the Eater drama, and several other things. So instead of doing much text blogging today I am going to leave you all with a photo I took today. I pulled out the camera, arranged some wooden spools of thread, and snapped some pics. I really love one of them...so here it is...

So Much To Tell...

It has been forever since I've just blogged! I'm going to try and give an update on everything that is going on...

My husband got a job a couple of weeks ago as the manager of a portrait studio! The company is nationwide and really awesome! He is getting vacation days, health benefits, and he can bonus each month in three different areas. So last week we were out of town because he started training for his new job. This week we are back at home while he trains in another location. Then on Sept. 21 we are moving!

We had some difficulty finding an apartment complex with openings that was in a good neighborhood. But we found a nice place where the people are really nice and we are super excited! Our apartment even has a washer and dryer already in it! Thankfully almost all of our furniture was given to use by family members and the things that we did need to buy we found great deals on! Last week I picked up a vintage table and chairs for $100 at the thrift store!

So right now I'm working on getting our stuff packed up which is not a lot of fun...however thankfully we don't have to take everything the first trip.

Once we get moved and the craziness is over I can get back to work on making sewing tutorials and spending more time on my etsy stores. In between packing I've been making these really cute satin flowers that I'm planning on listing in my handmade etsy once we get moved. I've also been doing a little bit of work on a sewing themed mini album!

That is pretty much what I've been up to...plus a lot of thrifting :) I've you want to see any of my thrifting hauls they are on my personal youTube channel.

I'll try and keep up with this blog a little better once we get moved...and hopefully post more pictures of my projects.
