Crafting...finally

There's something I have to explain...for the last few years I've been behind on gift giving. I always manage to get Christmas gifts on time for everyone, but birthdays, mother's day, etc. are guaranteed to be late. I think it has something to do with the fact that I rarely go home. So needless to say I'm behind on sis' birthday, mother's day, and dad's birthday. However, last night I made part of my mom's mother's day gift!

I got the idea a while back for fabric covered thumbtacks and just happened to have the supplies on hand. I made mom five fabric covered button thumbtacks and gave her a coupon for a zipper bag of her fabric and zipper choices. I put the pins on a scrap piece of foam board covered with wrap paper that Dollar Tree uses to wrap glassware, wrote on recycled paper, packaged in a recycled envelope, and made the label from Dollar Tree paper as well (I was kinda in a save the Earth mode). I gave it to her today and she really like the pins!
