T-shirt tote

So I've finally gotten around to working on a project on a weekday. (You may have notice that all my previous posts were made on the weekend.) Anyway, on Monday I went to the local thrift store and found 4 great "new" t-shirts for projects. I used one of them for my t-shirt tote, along with a shirt I got back in high school at a leadership convention. I designed my tote after one in the Generation-T book but I put my own spin on it.

I started with this shirt from Silver Dollar City. My absolute favorite place in the world! The other shirt I used was just black with a logo. (And yes I forgot to take a before picture until after I began to cut.)

I wanted to put the straps on the outside of the front and back, but at the same time I didn't want to cover the words on the shirt. So I did both. On the front the strap is sewn on the inside, on the back the strap is on the outside. I also included a pocket in mine made from the sleeve.

Here's the front.

The back.

And the tote in use.
