Wear Blue Jeans on Monday

April is Child Abuse Prevention month. My university is have events all month to bring awareness to the students and the community. Monday has been designated as blue jean day because blue is the color used to represent child abuse awareness/prevention. I want everyone to be aware that child abuse happens and there are a lot of websites out there with great information. If you think a child is being abused then please tell someone because no one deserves to be abused.

Please wear blue jeans Monday to show your support.

It's for rape awareness not child abuse.

Actually each color of ribbon has many different meanings. Just now I found prostate cancer, child abuse, and arthritis as some of the things blue ribbons stand for.

Yeah but the thing at your college is for Rape Awareness.

Hey anonymous, just because the college you pointed out did the jean thing for rape awareness doesn't mean that her college can't do the jean thing for child abuse awareness. Quit trying to stir up trouble and hide behind anonymous.

Here are all of the colors of ribbons and what they represent. Most of them represent multiple things.

You go girl (A glance) on spreading awareness!!!

Thanks anonymous for th link, it's nice to see what Other universities are doing. However my university is doing jean day for child abuse prevention because April is child abuse prevention month. I know this because my class did a 30 minute radio program about the events being held by the human resources depart (such as jeans day) and ways to prevent child abuse, so I'm well aware that OUR jean day is for child abuse prevention/awareness.

Sorry not trying to cause trouble I just know which college she goes to because of the pictures on here and I know that college has been sending out stuff for Jean Day for Rape awareness because I go there also. I was only anonymous because I don't have an account but now I don't want to say my name because you're all pissy lol. Just trying to help but whatever.

How were you trying to help? Whatever. You can tell us your name. What are you afraid of?

I'm just defensive when someone's trying to mess with my little sister.

Anonymous, I don't know of any info being sent out about rape awareness at my university. You can either just deal with the fact that I'm talking about child abuse awareness or stop commenting because I don't appreciate your profanity on my blog. Yes rape awareness is a good cause, but that wasn't the point of MY post.

Sorry... I really was just trying to help because with all the ribbons meaning so many things it gets really confusing. I'm sorry for the "profanity." It's always hard to judge what each person thinks is profanity and I'm VERY sorry. I'm glad for the awareness you are raising and I bet people on campus are all confused lol. And to Courtney you seem really mad at me so I don't want to say my name in fear that you will do something to me, I dunno if you live here or not and if you don't I don't want problems. Sorry again I won't post on either of your blogs or even read them again. SORRY!!!

This really is the last time I will post, because I want to keep it private what college we are talking about because I know you don't want people to know but check out the school calendar it shows today as sexual assault awareness day, this is why I thought this but maybe there are two things going on today and people are getting them mixed up. Sorry again, I really am. I had no idea this would be such a problem. :( Don't worry I'm don't trying to help.

I use other posts on a blog to determine what is considered "profane" and I have never used any sort of bad language on here.

Who are you that you think my sis would do something?? She doesn't even live in the same state as me.

I did check the school calender and I know what it says, but I got my info from a rep. from the social work dept. And it doesn't matter know because I still brought around awareness for a worthy cause and you brought up another worthy cause as well...so woot for awareness :)

I was upset because you were trying to start stuff with my sister. I'm insulted that you think I'm going to "do something to you". I'm also not going to drive 5 hours to see you so you can tell us who you are now.

I'll second the woot for awareness!!! :)
