Yay for Videos

One more video from my production class! This is actually the first video we did, but I'm just now getting around to posting it.

The assignment was to tell a story, so my group partner Blair Waltman and I decided to tell the story of a favorite local diner. It was a fun story to work on. We planned on putting CGs of each person's name during their interview, but ran out of time...I will be going back and re-editing things like that so this can be used for my resume' tape.

I am the reporter, camera operator for the shots when the diner was open, and I did some of the editing. Blair was the camera operator for the actual interview and did most of the editing.

Roadtrip to the Roundup

Around one o'clock today I got a call from my mom asking if I wanted to meet her and dad at a diner. I said "sure." We met in a small town about an hour from my university and an hour from home, and ended up at the Roundup Restaurant.














It was a bustling little place. When we went in we were lucky to grab a table and more people kept coming in. I'm really surprise at how busy a small diner in a town that has a size B school can be. There was nothing glamorous about the place but it is a hit among the locals, and it's easy to see why. They have the biggest chicken fried steak I've ever seen in my life and the smallest salad!




















On my way to the diner I saw three beautiful horses and was going to take a picture of them on the way back and of course they weren't in the pasture anymore :( So if you were wanting to see some Oklahoma horses then you'll just have to "hold your horses." (Sorry I just couldn't resist.)

Bop Bop Sh-Bop

Today my parents and I went on a road trip...to the 50s! Really we just turned off HWY 75 and ate at the Be-Bop Diner. It's a relatively new restaurant but has the feel of days-gone-by. I'm a fan of Happy Days, Route 66, and all those old things and this the Be-Bop diner made me feel like I was almost there!














There were cute things on the menu such as the Johnny B.L.T. Goode and the You ain't nothin' but a hot dog! But I ended up being lame getting the usual classic hamburger. It was good. So I'll stop rambling and show the pictures I took...


































So for kids 12 and under the food comes in a classic car. I was drooling over the cars hrmm, looking at them when the lady asked me if I wanted my food in one too. Heck yeah, I did! I'm not that far from 12...right?? All you have to do is switch the two numbers...anyway, my fries came in the cutest cardboard classic car I've ever seen!











I hope the Be-Bop Diner is successful so I can eat there again next time I'm home from college.
Speaking of college...I have to go back tomorrow :( Blah, I'm enjoying my break to much to think about school work right now.

Out on the town

Today my mom and I hit the town. We started out by meeting my dad at The Corner Cafe, a local diner on *in big epic voice* THE Historical Route 66! It was a cute little place that was bustling with activity. They had the most delicious club sandwich.

After lunch we went to some area thrift stores. At the first one I got a vintage tree topper and a sewing box, both for half price.

Then we hit the jackpot of all jackpots...it was book-a-palozza! By that I mean we got like 22 books for under $21. The majority of the books are quilting books that my mom likes, some are about building your own home (which we're going to do soon!), and I got Christopher Reeves' autobiography and a Lawrence Welk autobiography that is autographed by Tom Netherton. I know that sounds like a lot, but really the sale price on just one of the quilting books is $21.95. So mom and I are very proud of our thrift store treasures!
